Biblically Accurate God: Explanation and Meaning 2023

Is God’s appearance described in the Bible?

Yes. God’s appearance is described in the Bible. Let us start with His Son Christ/Yashaya:

Revelation 1:14-16 King James Version (KJV)

14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many glasses of water.

Christ had wooly hair and black feet that looked like brass burned in a furnace. It shows that Christ was even more, darker than most Negros. The only people on this earth with wooly hair are the so-called Negros.

Colossians 1:15 tells us that Christ is the image of the invisible God, meaning that Christ looks just like his Father, the Highest God. But it does not end there; Daniel 7 verse 9 tells us the following:

“I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of Days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.”

Like Christ, the Highest has wooly hair, and because His Son looks like Him, his skin is black too.

Most people say that God is a true spirit. But since humans are made in the image of the Highest, and we know that humans are both spirit and flesh, being made in His image clearly shows that the Most High has a body too. That is why he can sit on the throne.

You would not be able to sit if you did not have a body.

Also, remember that the Most High showed Moses his backward parts too. Therefore, Moses saw the back of the Most High’s head, His back, and the backs of His feet. So it is incorrect to regard the highest as a disembodied spirit.

The Highest feels, gets angry, loves, hates, etc.; he bestows to us, His image and some of the qualities He has, e.g., the capacity to love as He does.

What makes the God of the Bible seem real?

I didn’t study Christianity or the Bible.

My mom took us to the Catholic church after divorcing my dad. I thought God was an idiot. I thought priests were just as sinful as I was, so why were they supposedly closer to God than anyone else?

I thought protestants were weirdos.

I had been around these nutjobs who used to see a demon behind everything. If you got stung by a mosquito, Satan sent him to harass you.

So after starting college, I got involved with Ayn Rand’s objectivist philosophy. I considered myself an atheist and spent time making fun of Christians in my philosophy classes.

I was pre-med and a philosophy major. I was so smart that the leader of a major Objectivist chapter wanted me to speak at a conference.

I had one philosophy professor challenge the class to disprove a certain theory. He said that no one had disproven the argument in his twenty years of teaching. He said if anyone disproves the argument, he will give the person an automatic “A.”

  • I disproved it after my first lecture in his class.
  • He was extremely angry and couldn’t believe it.

I entered college with only an 8th-grade understanding of math. When I got serious and entered college, I went to Organic Chemistry II without taking a formal college algebra class.

  • My mathematics professor said that I was gifted in math.
  • Professors praised me for my writing abilities and my scientific reasoning abilities.
  • My point?
  • I was arrogant. I was very arrogant and damn sure that I had this world figured out.
  • I was wrong.

I moved next door to a man who came from some podunk town in Missouri. He told me about confessing my sins and accepting Christ as my Savior.

I was respectful, but I thought he was a fool.

Then one day, I looked at my life. Why am I here?

God didn’t exist, and science said I was an accident and had no significance in the grand scheme.

So I attempted suicide.

Biblically Accurate God: Explanation and Meaning 2023

I overdosed on 5 boxes of sleeping pills. I challenged God because He said, “Go ahead and take the pills. You won’t die and will just make a fool of yourself.”

I yelled aloud, “If you’re real then save my life! I dare you!!!!”

I woke up three days later. My family had been told I would be severely brain-damaged due to oxygen deprivation.

I wasn’t.

I had no organ damage, either.

I was perfectly fine, and I HATED THAT.

I wanted to die.

So I planned my death again, but this time with a bullet, just like my friend had done years before.

But God intervened. Before carrying out my plan, my next-door neighbor talked to me again about Salvation.

I heard that voice again telling me, “Listen to this man. He knows what he’s talking about.”

But there was a struggle. My intellect was telling me that this was religious nonsense. Confessing my sins and accepting Christ into my heart would leave me feeling like an idiot later.

But the other voice urged me on.

I followed that still, small voice and accepted Christ.

THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING.

  • I can’t describe it exactly, but I was different,
  • My poor neighbor was my whipping boy before I accepted Christ. My other neighbor, an electrical engineer, would join forces with me to tease my neighbor about his stupidity.
  • But his stupidity saved my soul.
  • Because of him, I’m still alive. I witnessed my grandmother, who accepted Salvation before she passed.
  • My best friend, who is a veterinarian now, also accepted Salvation.
  • I met my wife and had two kids.
  • My neighbor not only saved my life, but he saved the lives of my kids as well.
  • God cared enough about this arrogant fool to send someone to lead me to Him. And my walk to Him led others to Him as well.

THAT’S WHAT MAKES THE GOD OF THE BIBLE REAL.

Update: My best friend, father figure, and the best man I’d ever met passed in 2014. I miss him every day, and I thank God that Stanley Ray Morgan loved me enough to care to tell me the truth.

I will see him again in Heaven. If my only reward were spending time with him in Heaven, all my suffering would be worth it.

The world didn’t deserve him but praise God that He lent him to us for a time.

Is God’s appearance described in the Bible?

Many of these answers still need to answer your question fully. Contrary to popular belief, the Bible does give God a physical description. I’ll put down a few scriptures that show that God does have an appearance. The rest is up to you to believe the word or not.

Exodus 33:18-22

And he said, I pray thee, shew me thy glory.

19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

20 He said, Thou canst not see my FACE: for no man shall see me, and live.

21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

23 And I will take away את my hand, and you shall see my BACK PARTS: but my FACE shall not be seen.

Daniel 7:9

9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of Days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.

Revelation 4:2-3

And immediately I was in the spirit: behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Genesis 1:26

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and the cattle, and all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

When you look at scripture and piece together all the pieces, God is described as the color of a jasper stone and sardine (dark red-brown), he has wooly white hair, a face, and a back, and he made man in his image and likeness. So does God have a physical look to him? Scripture says yes. And the kicker is this, guess what kind of person he looks like

What are some examples of direct statements in the Bible that identify God’s qualities?

“He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.” 2 Kings 2:23-24
A group of young kids called Elijah a baldy-coot. So Elijah asked his chum, God, to punish them. God had the kids ripped to bloody gobbets by a couple of bears.
It is a perfect example of how the God of love behaves.
Edit:
I’ve had to do what I rarely do: disable comments.
I cannot believe how many so-called Christians try to justify God killing kids because they are the same as today’s hoodie teenagers. Fuck me! You guys are freaking scary. You believe that being torn to bloody gobbets is a suitable punishment for taking the piss out of a bald guy.

Why is Eve considered the first woman and not Lilith?

There are many questions about Lilith; There are legends that Adam had a wife before Eve who was Lilith; this is not found in the Bible. The legends vary significantly, but they all agree that Lilith left Adam because she did not want to submit to him. According to the legends, Lilith was an evil, wicked woman who committed adultery with Satan and produced a race of evil creatures. None of this is biblically true. There is no biblical basis whatsoever for these concepts.

The passage most often pointed to as evidence for Lilith is Isaiah 34:14, which in the NRSV reads, “There too Lilith shall repose.” It could be a better translation. Every other major translation of the Bible reads something to the effect of “night creature” or “screech owl.” Even if “demon monster named Lilith” was the proper translation of the Hebrew word, Adam is nowhere even hinted at in this passage or its context. Whatever Lilith was, it is not given any connection to Adam or Creation.

Biblically Accurate God: Explanation and Meaning 2023

Another commonly used support for Lilith is the differing creation accounts in Genesis chapters 1–2. Some claim that the woman in Genesis 1 was Lilith, with the woman in Genesis 2 being Eve. It is folklore; Genesis chapter 2 is a “closer look” at the creation of Adam and Eve, as recorded in Genesis chapter 1. Another way to view it is that Genesis 1 is a summary, and Genesis 2 extrapolates on the summary.

The Bible says that Adam and Eve were the first humans ever created (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:18-25). “Lilith” is popular in some radical feminist movements because Lilith is an example of a woman refusing to submit to male headship. Lilith has no application from a biblical perspective, but there are many perspectives outside of the biblical text. You can read my more detailed article about Lilith. What if Lucifer didn’t become a fallen angel?

Lucifer was never an angel, fallen or otherwise. The word “Lucifer” appears once in some translations of the Bible (Isaiah 14:12) and is a mistranslation of a Hebrew word, “hell,” which means shining one.

Jerome, a good scholar of Greek but unknown in Hebrew, translated this via the Greek, Eosphorus, the morning star, or Venus, into Lucifer, a portmanteau of two Latin words, Lux, or light, and fer, bringer or bearer.

The passage in question refers to the King of Babylon, an ancient empire that had significant dealings with God’s people. Nebuchadnezzar II, at whom the pronouncement is most likely aimed, was responsible for the destruction of Solomon’s Temple and the taking of the Jews into a 70-year-long exile in Babylon as punishment for their apostasy.

The whole demonological corpus around Lucifer is absolute nonsense. It does not and never has referred, biblically, to Satan, whose name is never given in scripture but which is a Hebrew word, a title (הַשָּׂטָ֤ן, shown here with the definite article ha) meaning resister or adversary.
The Bible never identifies Satan by name, and certainly not as Lucifer.

Is the Bible the infallible word written by God?

A: This may differ from the answer you were looking for.

The Bible was written over about a millennium, starting with the Prophets around 800 BCE; Deuteronomy around 700 BCE; the rest of the Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers) in the Persian exile (586–539 BCE); Esther, Job, and Psalms after that in 330–164 BCE; and the New Testament mostly in the 1st century CE, starting with the Pauline epistles in about 50 CE, and the Johannine epis around 110 CE.

The Bible was then edited and assembled over several centuries into a form that resembled the Vulgate Bible in about 400 CE. That stayed more or less the same until the Reformation and the Lutheran Bible were published in 1522. The Bible was then translated into German (and other languages) and edited into several new versions.

There are several different author styles in the Bible, indicating that several authors wrote them. These are known among Bible scholars as J (the Jahwist source, who used YHWH as the name of God), E (the Elohist source, who used Elohim or El), P (the Priestly source), and D (the Deuteronomist source).

Biblically Accurate God: Explanation and Meaning 2023

Similarly, Matthew, Mark, and Luke are so similar in content and wording that it is speculated that their stories are based on a hypothetical source Q, and they are also called the Synoptic Gospels. John, however, stands out.

So it is clear as the summer sun that men wrote, edited, and assembled the Bible over about a millennium and then revised it again a millennium later because of a religious schism in Christianity. And if it is edited, and there are different versions, it is obviously not infallible, or they would not have edited and assembled it differently.

Some argue that God inspires the Bible, but that requires a god to exist, and not everyone agrees. But it is not infallible and not written by God.

What does it feel like to be in the presence of God?

It depends upon what you need when you’re crying out to Him or what He intends as He moves near you with a fuller presence. Most men cannot stand.

Sometimes it feels like you’ve come under a heavy blanket and feel the “weight” of His presence. Some fall to the ground and cannot move; others tremble uncontrollably. I’ve usually only felt the heaviness. Other times, one might feel completely bathed in the presence of pure love that washes through their inner being, which is overwhelming.Biblically Accurate God: Explanation and Meaning 2023

When I’ve experienced this (a few times in my journey), I’ve always been so filled with humility and gratitude that I lose all focus except for Him and His goodness and drop to my knees, weeping in inexpressible thankfulness, which is so deep within me. Other times I’ve experienced absolute peace that resonates throughout my body, causing a sense of complete security and assurance.

God is truly real and completely beyond human description. Even writing this needs to express the experience clearly. There are no adequate words to explain the supernatural experience. It’s beyond description.

What do you think, how god would look like?

The timeless Vedic scriptures describe the all-attractive Supreme Person, Supreme Lord Krishna, in this way:
“He is a beautiful youth with a glowing complexion the color of rain clouds.” He plays the flute, attracting the hearts of all. His cheeks are brilliant, and his smile is enchanting. He wears a peacock feather in his curly black hair and a flower garland around his neck. His beautiful garments are the color of lightning. “His toenails resemble the light of the moon.”
