In what sequence should one watch the anime series Jojo?
Some people equate the different parts with the actual seasons of JOJO’s Bizarre adventure which is WRONG. I remember on my first viewing being very confused about where the Battle tendency season was, or the second half of Stardust Crusaders.
So once and for all this is the viewing order of every season of JOJO’s bizarre adventure and which parts of the story they entail.
In the episode order of the series that started in 2012
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders
- JoJo’ Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Battle in Egypt Arc
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind
Handles the entire Part 5, 39 episodes when it’s finished the final 2 episodes will be released July 28th, Join Giorno on his piss drinking Gangster Adventure.
If you want to continue on with the manga from here you start at chapter 595 with Stone ocean.
The anime has covered the first five parts, spanning four seasons. After watching these, read the manga if you don’t want to wait for an anime adaptation.
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: The Animation – Covers parts 1–2
- Part 1: Phantom Blood – Centers on Jonathan Joestar’s battle with Dio Brando.
- Part 2: Battle Tendency – Centers on Joseph Joestar’s battle with the Pillar Men.
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders – Covers part 3
- Part 3: Stardust Crusaders (duh) – Centers on Jotaro Kujo and etc.’s battle with [SPOILER] and his forces.
- This season is split into two parts, with the second one being titled “Battle in Egypt”.
- Part 3: Stardust Crusaders (duh) – Centers on Jotaro Kujo and etc.’s battle with [SPOILER] and his forces.
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable – Covers part 4
- Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable (duh) – Centers on Josuke Higashikata, Jotaro, etc.’s battle with Kira.
- JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind – Covers part 5
- Part 5: Vento Aureo (lit. “Golden Wind”) – Centers on Giorno Giovanna’s goal to become the boss of a mafia.
As mentioned above, we’re entering manga territory.
- Stone Ocean (part 6) – Centers on Jolyne Cujoh and etc.’s battle with Enrico Pucci.
- Steel Ball Run (part 7) – Centers on Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli in a horse race in an alternate universe.
- JoJolion (part 8) – Centers on [SPOILER?]’s attempt to regain his past memories, taking place in the Steel Ball Run universe.
In what sequence should one watch the anime series, Jojo?
Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure (2012) Which Includes Part 1 & 2 (Phantom Blood & Battle Tendency)
- Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure Stardust Crusaders (It was 2 seasons)
- Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable.
The Live Action Movie Should be seen after Diamond is Unbreakable (it has many spoilers for it) since it’s a live action for this part!
- You need to know two things: There are timelines (more specifically, two universes) within the JJBA franchise, which goes from Part 1, Phantom Blood, to Part 6, Stone Ocean. Then there’s the reboot, which is canon, that goes from Part 7, Steel Ball Run, to Part 8, JoJolion.
- The date of release for each part is chronologically correct within the timeline: Part 1 takes place in the XIX century, Part 2 in the middle of the XX century, and so on. At least until Part 7, since it’s a reboot, which sets back to the end of the XIX century.
TL, DR: Read/Watch JoJo from the release date, in this order:
- Phantom Blood
- Battle Tendency
- Stardust Crusaders (the anime has divided it in 1st and 2nd season)
- Diamond is Unbreakable
- Golden Wind/Vento Aureo
- Stone Ocean
- Steel Ball Run
- JoJolion

Conclusion:
From the beginning w/ Jonathan battling Dio using his own blood as a weapon right up until the present Golden Wind Giacomo Jojo w/ the Mafiosa ‘Cappas’ in which for many centuries now the Joestars have used Stands of every shape and size to see justice is served.
If you start viewing Jojo’s BA from any other arc, following the storylines and plots and sub-plots will be very difficult nay well nigh impossible to do!
I believe that Jonathan Joestar (The first Jojo) was one of the few Jojo characters to use the blood weapon and why is because it is so similar to the blood on sword weapon techniques used in anime like Blood+ and the creator(s) of JBA anime arcs did not want their anime to be confused w/ Blood+ who battled vampire-like creatures while Jojo’s ongoing battles wewre at first w/ Dio and his Zombie-like co-horts.
In the latest Golden Wind epic, however, the villain is the mysterious Boss of a Mafia family cell who wants to kill his only daughter until Giacomo and his friends saved her and are now on the Boss’s ‘hit list’ for defying a direct order from the Boss who is like a Mafia godfather it seems.
I have to admit though that Golden Wind is starting to get boring and tedious and keeping all the Stands straight is very difficult to do.
Not sure but Golden Wind just MAY be the final Jojo of the anime which might end sooner than we all expect it to end.
