Here’s what worked in the order we did it.

In the IG app, change your email address (just trying to trigger a refresh on their server). Open the link in your new email to confirm the change.
If you have a business/professional/creator IG account, change it back to a personal account in your settings (temporarily, you can switch back later)
If you see that person in your DMs now that it’s a personal account, look for a little muted speaker icon next to their name; if there is one, go into the setting for that thread and unmute them. The icon should be gone now. If they still don’t show up, keep moving through the steps.
Log out of your IG accounts.
Go into your phone settings app, go to Storage, scroll to Instagram App, select it, and click Delete App (this works differently than just removing the app through the Home Screen; this will delete any saved settings as well)
Restart your phone (turn it off, turn it back on)
Before re-downloading the app, go to your browser app of choice and log into IG on the browser (not the app; you should not have the app installed at this point).
When logged into the browser, try sending DMs to the person you couldn’t connect to previously. At this point, it worked; she got the DMs I sent via the browser.
Reinstall IG, and everything should be good now. If not, I’m sorry, and I wish you luck. After weeks of trying everything imaginable, it is the only thing that worked for us.

Follow some simple steps; step 1: Uninstall Instagram app in your device.

Step 2: Go to Google Play Store> settings > turn off auto update of apps.
